Trading as Gill's Cycles Ltd, formerly TS Gill & Co Ltd, but with the Gumtree username of Tejinder, they sell bicycles from Access Self Storage in Wimbledon Park.
I purchased a bicycle from them last year for £225, which was faulty. As I had to travel far to get to them, I requested a refund, but they would only refund me £35. I felt pressured to take that offer in the moment, but I know my consumer rights, so I later requested a full refund.
They claimed that they do not give refunds, despite giving me no warning of this before. They are clearly unaware of consumer laws, where they cannot apply any no refunds policy to goods that are faulty (with a few exceptions which do not apply here).
Only after sending a more formal letter did I get my money back.
It is never my intent to harm small businesses with a review like this, but small businesses also need to know that being a small business doesn't give them to the right screw people over. I'm sure they've had many happy customers, and good for them, but a silent no refunds policy and not being aware of basic consumer rights is worrying.
