Ownership Rights

When you post content, you retain copyright ownership of your original content, although you give us certain rights that allow us to use your content, through a "license". Most other sites will abuse this and give themselves the right to do basically anything, but not here. Below you will find the terms of the license in plain English.

We have the following non-exclusive rights to your content:
  • The right to display your content publicly, where search engines and other services (such as Wayback Machine) can index it
  • The right to keep a truly anonymised version of your content even after your account has been deleted or disciplined, to maintain discussion integrity
  • The right to post your content on other forums and social media platforms, such as Reddit
    • Your content will usually be posted in full, but may sometimes only be the relevant parts
    • Your content may be edited for platform compatibility, or shortened, without altering your core message
    • At the bottom of the content, we will state that the content is yours, and provide a direct link back to your content here
    • The sole purpose of this is to create awareness of our forum by exposing content to more people
    • Where your content is anonymised on this forum, any copies published on other platforms will also be anonymised
    • Contact us if you would like to request that your content is anonymised (where applicable) or removed, which we will process within 7 calendar days
We do not have the following rights, without your direct written consent:
  • We will not sell, share, or sublicense your content to anyone else (other sites can use your content for their own commercial gain)
  • We will not significantly change your content (when we do need to make edits in line with our rules, they will be fair and you will be informed)
  • We will not transfer your content to someone else without giving you notice and the right to remove your content before the transfer
We always have the right to remove content if forced to do so by a copyright claim, a court order, or similar legal matter.
